A query only for the practicing Anabaptists:
Does your fellowship practice the "laying on of hands"?
If yes, then in what circumstances is it done?

Yes.
It's done in situations as mentioned by others, and also in prayer for healing or other deep needs.

It is practiced in Holdeman circles but is not taught about much / isn’t a big deal. It’s viewed as purely symbolic.
(John Holdeman himself did write about it a fair bit.)

Thank you all. This gives me a better idea of how it's used and viewed.
OTOH I've been to Pentecostal meetings in the far reaches of remote mountain communities. Some of them became so rowdy I thought they were going to bring out the snakes. Thankfully no snakes. It was quite a bit different from the calmer services I've attended.

Did you ever listen to Wendy Bagwell when you were younger? He had this story about giving a concert in a church like that that did use snakes.MaxPC wrote:Thank you all. This gives me a better idea of how it's used and viewed.
