No, I never did hear of Wendy Bagwell, Lester. We were visiting in West VA where snake handling is still legal. Fortunately they didn't use them at the services we visited.

Thank you for helping with this topic.

The first time I heard the term, I was about 6 years old and my mother said to my father that she was going to practice the "laying on of hands" if I let the screen door bang one more time.

It's illegal in Kentucky, but it still happens. It's only a misdemeanor, and the fines are $50-$100. And of course, the churches that do this believe they are following the Word of God despite the persecution of the State ...

I know several people who have been to such services and one person who grew up in this kind of church.

Is it biblical? Is it Christlike? Is it loving? Is it true? How can I find out?
