Are CA church standards always specific? Or do some CA churches have general guidelines? What I mean is, I know that some churches require a specific type of veil/clothing for their members. Do some allow members to choose the type of veil and modest clothing they wear?

Yes.

Most CA churches have specific standards but there is a difference in how much deviation is tolerated. Some groups have very specific patterns for the head covering, but allow a few older women to keep an earlier pattern, such as having strings attached. Our standard is for men to wear plain suits after marriage but we see some men who still wear a conventional suit and tie. We probably allow more deviation than most plain CA's do. We have a progressive standard for the head covering - as women get older, they are expected to use black strings instead of white and the covering should also become larger with time.

We try to have guidelines but when people fail to honour them, we let them know that the guidelines should be followed.

I've been with groups that were super-detailed and I've been with groups that were vague, and could have spelled a bit more out. No matter what, you'll always have fence riders and you'll always have people find a way around everything.

So true. I've had a similar experience with that. Sometimes the history of the group determines that. Sometimes it's the founder's personality. Bad experiences can often produce more or fewer standards.

Martindale is Lancaster Conference.

There is also a Weaverland Martindale district as well as a Groffdale. And now there is an Old Order one in Ontario.
