Given how expensive pick up trucks are, I often wonder how much of a Christian spirit it shows to have brand new fully loaded trucks.

I have no religious or personal problem with him, but is it really surprising that Pilgrim is not “holding together” as a group considering how much there actual existence all stems from Stephen being ordained bishop. I know the evolution of the Lebanon district “issues” and despite their validity you cannot convince me Stephen (and not blaming him) was not still the key catalyst. He was always so dominant in Pilgrim that it was inevitable that either he could not continue to control everything from a vision standpoint OR that outlying congregations did not fully want to follow.

When Pilgrimsplit from EPMC they would NEVER have supported a web page. Not judging but clearly their standards have moved sufficiently from Eastern that some are not happy….hence the creation of Northeast Conference

Anyone with experience could see this coming.

The Internet didn't exist in the way we think of it today in 1991. It's curious to me that it's okay for ultraconservatives to use the Internet for business to accumulate capital, but using the Internet for evangelism purposes such as helping people find their churches is no bueno.

Very curious indeed, and business is often the camel’s nose in the tent - where we all find out that the “business use” ends up including businessmen booking their vacation tickets in the Internet, finding deals for a nice boat on Facebook marketplace (via their Facebook account also justified for “business” for “marketing purposes”)…

I was never part of the Pilgrim conference, but I have worked with and brushed shoulders with Big Steve and have a lot of respect for him. But as far as I can remember, him and Junior were forever bashing heads and were always at odds with each other. Or maybe I just heard all the wrong stories?

Sure… everything is the fault of the bishop Eastern wanted to silence.
All the bishops that sided with him were naïve and easily manipulated.
Have you spoken to very many people in Pilgrim over the reasons they split?
How Eastern refused to release them even though they did the exact same thing with general conference?
According to the elderly ordained I’ve spoken to, the intent was never a large unwieldy conference like Eastern.

As for him arguing… show me a bishop who doesn’t have someone he disagrees with repeatedly.

As an aside, I find it really annoying how plain people refer to a “Junior” as if we’re all supposed to know who that is. I have literally been asked, “Do you know Junior?” Junior who? I provably know 50 “Juniors”.

I honestly never knew him by any other name. My wife may know. I'll ask.

Sorry to get your panties all twisted 8-)

Oh, it’s not directed at anyone in particular. It’s just one of those off-putting quirks plain people have that makes their culture impenetrable to outsiders. Incidentally, I wear boxers (given my strong stance against cross dressing).
