Religious-themed designs banned from White House Easter egg art contest

https://www.foxnews.com/media/religious ... rt-contest
Read the actual flyer that Fox News is up in arms about https://firstliberty.org/wp-content/upl ... _Flyer.pdf

They are collecting designs from school children that will then be turned into actual easter eggs by artists from around the country who will be hired by the White House to produce the eggs that will be used at the White House.

It does seem appropriate that the White House avoid using taxpayer dollars to produce overtly religious art work, especially that endorses one particular denomination or sect.

School kids are still free to decorate their own easter eggs however they want.

In any event, it's not actually the White House but the American Egg Board that is sponsoring and managing the contest and event: https://www.incredibleegg.org/about-us/
I suppose you would also recommend that the White House avoid any Jewish imagery on anything related to a Hanukkah celebration?

Easter eggs, the Easter Bunny, and even the name "Easter" are all of Pagan origin. Essentially they have their roots more ancient pagan spring fertility rites or celebrations around the spring vernal equinox that were carried forward when medieval Europeans converted to Christianity.
