Stephen Russell changed my life!
He was my teacher when I attended Arthur Mennonite School in Arthur, Illinois.
When I enrolled, I was a 7th-grader reading at a 3rd-grade reading level. He spent a great deal of time assisting me in getting caught up in my reading skills. I attribute my academic success to the work he did with me. May God bless you, Stephen Russell!
This topic is about Catholic to Anabaptist conversion, various forum members have this experience.
NOT A NEW THING: The earliest reformers, including Menno Simons, had this experience.

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.
A dear friend of ours grew up Catholic, Pablo wrote his book.
Thanks.
Pablo Yoder is known to some on forum.
His name shows up in the Ken Miller threads, sadly, in Prayers, when he passed.

Pray for Pablo Yoder and family in Nicaragua.
I just read his newsletter this morning in which he announced that he has Stage 4 Cancer with multiple tumors in his kidneys and lungs.

My brother converted from Pentecostalism to Roman Catholicism. I wish I would have had more time to listen to his experiences but he passed on in his mid fifties.

Yes, converts happened every group and every place. You could make a new thread if you really object to a focused thread you know.

Oh, I accept the topic so lets not get so offended. I was merely saying and showing an example that Anabaptists too are drawn to other groups in Christianity.
I watched the whole clip expecting to see more reasons than non-resistance being his primary drawing to Anabaptism. His faith journey was interesting. I would have liked to hear more on his full views on non-resistance and I expect they were explained in his book.
It is interesting to me the importance and emphasis made on the keeping out of wars by some Anabaptists. In the MB church I attended the topic was not deemed that important to preach on. I guess there are different views on when we are killing another person and when we are not. Jesus seemed to indicate that we can do it with our words and I admit I am guilty of that at times and it seems even when I was not attempting to.
