Could voting be restricted to Anabaptist churches. Include only sent members from your local fellowship. Long term only.

I 'voted', but please define 'long term'. I used to think of 'long term' as synonymous with career', or 'life time', but my intended 'life time' service turned out to be less than that, but I would still think of it as 'career', because it's the only career I ever formally trained for, and 18 years is pretty close. I have learned, however, that a Christian cannot just relax after sensing a direction from God, because sometimes God will move people. (At least I feel confident that God moved us, even though I didn't really like it. Maybe not really liking it makes me even more confident that it was none of my own doing.)

But anything less than 1 - 2 years still really seems like 'short term' to me. (There was a time when I would have included formal training as a qualifier for 'long term service', but now I'm not as sure about that.)

I would also agree that long term is vague. Seems like most commitments I see aren’t any longer then 3 years.

I don’t even get a feel of a church in 1 year…

Adoniram Judson seemed to look down on it substantially too..
