"English" who join the Amish

The well known ,and well regarded Pathway writer , David Luthy, comes to mind , he joined the Amish in Aylmer,Ont, Canada ,over 50 years ago ,and stayed right there all this time, until quite recently , in failing health now, is staying with his son , Ben Luthy ,in union Grove NC ,a new Order group.But only because of his declining health....
I visited with him about 5 years ago in Aylmer , he seemed very satisfied with his long history in Aylmer Ontario ......and mentioned that "I am now the oldest man in our district, and get to walk in directly behind the Preachers ,when they head for the house ,for Church".
A Notre Dame university graduate ,he's done quite well , though he did find his niche as a writer ,there , and not as a farmer......
