Yes. I would mostly agree. Proselytizing without love can be harmful.

I agree love should not be conditional or just an evangelistic tool.

I also believe that true love would care about one's neighbor enough to share truly good news about how a relationship with a loving God is possible and eternal salvation.

I can't even convert myself, much less my neighbor. I'm glad the commandment is love instead, otherwise it would be impossible.

I agree I can love my neighbours but I can't convert them. Conversion is a miracle of grace that only God can do. But God does want us involved in it - Romans 10:13 - 'But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?' NLT So, true love for others involves sharing the Gospel with them as JimFoxvog pointed out.

Reminds me of the old saying 'you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink'.

The correct answer is neither of those two choices.

From Matthew 22:
"Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" He [Jesus] said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. ' This is the greatest and first commandment.

I think that evangelisation and witnessing to one’s neighbor is also an expression of love for his soul’s eternal destination. Just do not do it with a verbal cricket bat.

In a not hostile way, I'd like to put Steve-K on the hotseat.
I only recently joined the board to allow posting, but have peeked at it over a lot of years.
I'm from a not mennonite background, grew up around their conservative churches, am friends with many Old Order folk, was a member of a conservative mennonite church for a number of years although I no longer identify as Anabaptist.

But you post a lot. a ton. what's your background and why so many posts?

I post a lot? Or start a lot of threads?

There is a difference. Reason I ask, there are folks here that have well over twice my "posts" volume.

ETA: I looked it up. Josh holds the #1 spot, looks like I may be #5 with Max creeping up behind me :o

I appreciate your posts and your polls that are frequently not political and celebrate the mundane.
