What are some Anabaptist practises today that are not explicitly found in the early church as recorded in the New Testament, excluding The Revelation.
I will begin with one that some Anabaptists practise but is not explicitly found and that is the use of musical instruments in worship.
How convenient to exclude the Revelation, since that's where musical instruments are mentioned.
Matt. 26:30
Mark 14:26
Acts 16:25
Eph. 5:19
Col. 3:16
Yes there was singing in the Bible.
I meant none of the hymns sung in any Mennonite church or found in any Mennonite hymnal were found in the early church. Those were all written many many centuries later. In fact the major and minor scales and functional tonality used by Mennonite hymns didn't really emerge until the late Renaissance. Even the Amish Ausbund only dates to the 1500s.

The old woodcutter spoke again. “It is impossible to talk with you. You always draw conclusions. Life is so vast, yet you judge all of life with one page or one word. You see only a fragment. Unless you know the whole story, how can you judge?"

Any former Amish here to confirm this? I remember on another discussion forum a former Amish man saying that they genuflect in the Amish Church-
They also do in Holdeman churches, Mennonite, and others.

Have they always? How did this originate?
It seems to be a tradition followed among the saints since Bible times.
