Who is the Mennonite World Conference? I suppose I am wondering where its member churches stand in their separation from the world and its politics.

MWC is composed of different groups that would have a variety of stances.

What separation, I might ask?

Basically no participating in the vote or campaigning; nonresistant; more "plain"; adhering to Biblical marriage and teachings prohibiting abortion and euthanasia, etc.

I was suggesting that for many members of MWC, there is little separation in our view.

In the MB (Mennonite Brethren) congregations in which I grew up, the MWC & MCC were considered very liberal, at least by the mid to late 60's, when politically active pacifist rhetoric took over in those organizations. (But the MBs have always been somewhat ostracized by the other Mennonite groups, for various doctrinal & historic reasons.)

I hope you don't feel ostracized by this group of Mennonites!
