mom and i did something this year, that we've not done before.
i'm guessing it might turn into tradition.

we made a valentines supper and evening for the unmarried grandchildren.
if the parents wanted to go out they could, but this was for the kids.

For me personally, I keep it as a good attitude. It keeps me in a state of contentment.

But I see some brothers and especially sisters in church who are single, older, and I can tell are really struggling with loneliness and realising they aren't going to be getting married. I would like to know how to minister to them better.

Tomorrow a few of us Mennonites and a lot of Brethren who are single or widows and age 20 - 80 will be gathering for ice skating, games, and encouraging one another.

Kudos to both you and your Mom and Josh for that matter. I think that attitude says a lot about you. And I am glad to see that your post has more likes than I think I have seen on any single post on here.
