Verses 4 and 5 are my favorite ones in this Psalm.

Psalm 33:1-5 ESV

1. Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming to the upright.

2. Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;
Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings.

3. Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.

4. For the word of the Lord is upright,
And all His work is done in faithfulness.

5. He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.

In heavenly love abiding,
No change my heart shall fear;
And safe is such confiding,
For nothing changes here.
The storm may roar without me,
My heart may low be laid,
But God is round about me,
And can I be dismayed?

Wherever He may guide me,
No want shall turn me back;
My Shepherd is beside me,
And nothing can I lack.
His wisdom ever waketh,
His sight is never dim;
He knows the way He taketh,
And I will walk with Him.

Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;
Bright skies will soon be o’er me,
Where darkest clouds have been.
My hope I cannot measure,
My path to life is free;
My Savior has my treasure,
And He will walk with me.

Thankyou. I haven't heard that song for many years. I remember some of the tune but not all of it. Brings back some memories. Here it is -

steve-in-kville wrote:Yes, I do have a traditional side to me. In the not too distant past, some famous county music singer did a remake of this song. Cannot think of her name at the moment. This song speaks volumes to me!

As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
O sisters, let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down
O sisters, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
O brothers, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
Come on, brothers, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
O fathers, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
O fathers, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
O mothers, let's go down
Let's go down; don't you want to go down?
Come on, mothers, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
O sinners, let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
O sinners, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
Oasis Chorale sings this too, they can be found on YouTube. (I didn't follow this thread for a while, but thought I'd pass this along now.)

You learn nothing from your life if you think you are right all the time.

How you make others feel about themselves says a lot about you.
