My children insist on putting out a small table-top Nativity Scene that lighted. And my boys bought these new-fangled LED strings of lights that are draped in out dinning room.

I wanted an evergreen branch out at the bird feeder for the birds to sit on but my wife used a dead deciduous branch instead - it doesn't look as much as Christmas decoration. Just to give you an idea of our Christmas decorations.

My wife and I don't put up a Christmas tree because we live in a tiny one bedroom apartment. We don't usually decorate at all for the holidays.

Christmas trees are an obvious and blantant continuation of pagan worship rituals of the most pernicious nature, the adoption of which by professing Christians is an indication of the rank aposty that has the Western church in its icy death grip, an idolaltrous practice that should be excised from our homes by any means necessary in order to return to an theologically accurate commoration of the incarnation.
Absolutely I do not put up a tree. No, sir. I let my wife do it.

Indeed. I would never put up Christmas lights or decorations. Instead, I simply enjoy other people’s Christmas lights.Gene wrote:Christmas trees are an obvious and blantant continuation of pagan worship rituals of the most pernicious nature, the adoption of which by professing Christians is an indication of the rank aposty that has the Western church in its icy death grip, an idolaltrous practice that should be excised from our homes by any means necessary in order to return to an theologically accurate commoration of the incarnation.

Re: Do you put up a Christmas Tree?
I grew up with a Christmas tree. When I was young, our family would go to the local Christmas tree farm and cut one down. It was one of the few events that we did as a family during the holiday season. I appreciate the memories that were made in both cutting down and decorating a tree.
My parents still put up a tree, though it is a fake one most years. Everyone is expected to put on a few ornaments. I still participate, as I personally don't feel that the act in of itself is wrong.

Wreaths and paper snowflakes are nice. When I was young I never saw the appeal of the tree except for hanging lights on.
