Ebb and flow. Ebb and flow. Just wait. It gets worse before it gets better.

MennoNet is actually more controlled by the posters than by the moderators. That is not always a good thing.
Can you document that opinion with facts?   :laugh :laugh

Being I do not read all threads, I do not control the tone or direction. I only intercede when someone has alerts me to an issue.

Well, that's what some people think anyway... I am above all of that stuff, eh?

I split Current Events from Politics. I know politics do involve a lot of life, but it seems we stay focused on that here. I may limit posts or new threads in Politics from time to time to get us to shift over to more important issues, if we can not do so ourselves. I could also lock new thread creation so any new threads would have to be approved before they are added.

I left all the existing threads in the Politics section. I am not going to try to dig out and separate presently. I might later, but I do want to be intent as we move forward to consider how much politics we discuss here and if we think that is a good balance. Currently, I don't think we are doing so well.

There's so much more to life and particularly Discipleship Life than the media's sound and fury signifying nothing.

Looks as though we have discussed everything else so politics is all that's left??

Found Robert’s “Additions” thread. YAY. :D

i’ll add Admiral Acbon’s thread:

”A New Forum Idea”
http://forum.mennonet.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=752

i always find threads/posts when i’m looking for something else.

Could this be a technical glitch for the “post 2021 forum crash?” :?
(I’ve not noticed it before.)

1. i’ve received 2 separate email alerts to let me know a member posted in a thread i began.

2. when i tried to read: nothing.
i presumed the post was submitted+deleted. not sure. it happens.

3. i sent a brief PM to the member saying i’d like to see the post.
the PM appeared to have been read, no reply. (no problem.)

4. i received the second email about a thread post, but, again, when i checked, nothing. :?

5. i sent another brief PM.
i received an email saying there was a PM response.
i checked, no PM response. :?

again, the PM appears to have been read, no response. (if intended, no problem.)
right now, my “PM Inbox” shows i have “1 new message.” nothing. altho i’ve checked it several times.

nothing unusual about the email alerts, about posts or PM.
but, upon checking, no content, no trace of content. intended, or tech glitch?

- - -

Overall, it’s puzzling. i’m hoping this member is not (inadvertently) locked out, or something??
i can’t think of any reason this would be so. except a possible tech glitch?

i’m asking here, if it’s happening to one, it may be happening to others?
if so, they might not be able to contact admin/mods for help?

This is a new problem to me, i’ve not known of anything like this before. :)
