Only fo the first 30 minutes. After that they can not edit it.

yes, this is a little more of a problem now that we have extended editing time. however, the extended time is so appreciated, it's bound to happen.

i edit a lot. for spelling, wording, even content. so, yeah. it can inadvertently lead to some "inconsistencies."
waiting past the editing time allowance to reply would probably make sense.

Robert replied: now 30 minutes to edit! - wow. that's generous. :D

another thing -
not all devices show displays equally.

on my ipad, i cannot see who "hearts" posts.
on my laptop, they show up, no problem.

i presume there are various inconsistencies like that, device-to-device.

It used to timestamp edits immediately. Now the post just silently changes.

My eye doctor changed my eyeglasses prescription and I'm amazed at the things I missed when reading the forum that I can actually see now.

Except for the nautically vectored post t1 had so much trouble with the other day. That one is timestamped.

Stealth edit 1: 2:36 pm

This is a test. Posting at 2:38 PM EST. Will edit later and see if edit timestamps show.
Edit #1 @ 14:40
Edit #2 @ 14:45
Edit #3 @ 14:50
Edit #4 @ 14:55
Edit #5 @ 15:00
Looks like we get 15 minutes to edit a post without edits being tracked.
Edit #6 @ 15:05
After 15 minutes the delete option disappears as well.

So maybe we should also be able to delete a post for 30 minutes? Right now, it's a lot less that that, I think. But you can get creative and "edit" your post out of existence. So maybe the two times should be the same?

[I like the yawn icon, but don't get a lot of chance to use it.]

It timestamps when a moderator edits it.

Mine will also time stamp if, while editing, another person posts.

I've noticed internet hiccups all day, especially on Chrome and Firefox. There was an attempt to breach the ICE servers earlier today according to the news. Don't know what kind of an attack was used but it may have affected some internet sectors.
