Site outage

Post by Robert »

I was gone for 2 days and, of course, that is when Bluehost decided I needed to renew the hosting contract. For some reason, the domain has longer than the hosting contract although both were updated together, I thought.

Well, they could not give me a good enough deal, so I paid for a one month extension and will be moving all my content to a new host. Most of you will not notice a change ... helpfully. This will happen in the next month.

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

I suppose having various levels of paid membership is off the table? Other forums I've participated in had gold and silver memberships, both with varying levels of privileges.

Might be more work than its worth :?

Out of curiosity, what amount of disk space and bandwidth does Mennonet use? I have several bare metal servers that are not running close to capacity...

Very little. This is why I will not pay the price Bluehost wants. Web pages without a lot of images take very little bandwidth. Storage is not big since it is just a simple database with SQL calls.

Less then 10 GB for sure.

The issue is directing the domain. Have you done that before?

Would need to have PHP 7 installed too along with a MySQL database.
