At the top of the page, next to the Post Reply button, there's a wrench icon with a drop-down menu; one of the choices is Subscribe topic. If it says Unsubscribe, you have (perhaps unintentionally) signed up for notifications from the thread, and clicking on Unsubscribe should stop them.
Thankyou. The memory still works but is getting shorter.

i believe this was the case on MD. Don’t recall anything about it for MN.

113 guests?! :?
562 guests?!
Well, anyone is welcome to contact us and apply for restoration. But we haven't banned you yet.

What is not welcome is for a banned member to simply sign up and start posting again, surreptitiously, under a disguised identity. That will probably result in a ban for the new account and any that follow, as soon as we find out.

i’m not expecting another.

i’d like Falco to return. He may not know it’s even possible.

Search engines have things called spiders. They hit a site, search it for information all at once. so it will show many "users" but it is just one search engine hitting the site with multiple views to gather information for search results. So most likely just one search engine doing its work. I can mark certain sections off from search engines. The Mod area is blocked. The rest is open. The more you all talk, the more hits the site will get from a search engine to gather information.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not after you.

It looks like Google, Bing, etc. have their own “accounts”. Are the guests connected to them or are there something different?

They are search engine "accounts." This is most likely why they show up as users when they are scanning the site.
