I'm glad someone found it funny. I wasn't sure what verifying an intent meant, so I decided to find out ;->

For me, it's a "funny once". I may get a signature eventually.

So I think I have figured out why some folks can post in the welcome topic and some can't. I think it has to do with the usergroup that they belong to. There's a "newly registered user" and a "registered user" group. I believe if you're under the newly registered group the only place you can post is the welcome topic, but once you get switched to registered user you have access to the rest of the forum but not the welcome topic anymore.

Correct. That is the second step of the validation process.
