New Forum, new user name

Post by ShantyShaker »

MD was my first exposure to an online forum, so my user name was kind of a combination of my wife and I's initials which I regretted soon after we got to posting there. She got her own user name and I just left mine as it was.
So now I decided to make my user name match my occupation!
And Thank-you Robert for putting this forum online for us!
I've been able to clarify things in my own life as time has gone by in the reading of others perspectives these forums. Ernie's posts bringing church history to the discussions was very helpful as well.

Funny...I always wondered about the source of your Old MD name...but never asked I guess.

In the shed hauling world, we're called "shanty shakers", in part because a lot of Freightliner trucks are used and the nickname for Freightliner trucks is "freight shakers".

My boss has a Freightshaker. I can confirm that the name suits the trucks

Not near all Freightliners are shakers though, I had a '94 condo (hi-rise sleeper) that rode the best of any trucks I ever drove and it had a million and a quarter miles on it when I got it!
I drove a 2006 International 9200 for about 10 weeks one winter and I was so very happy to get back into my Freightliner that spring!
