Is the development of religious clichés and phrases really something you can get away from in any religious context that exists over time? My cousin who pastors a community church introduces his services, "Good morning, guys" pretty much every single time, I'm guessing. That's no less a cliché than the ones you always hear in the conservative Mennonites like "Greetings this morning in Jesus' name."
