Despite the 2nd Amendment, we don't allow people to defend their properties with land mines or drive around with RPGs, heavy machine guns, or hand grenades in their cars. And no one even thinks twice about it. So even in the most permissive state in the country we have still drawn lines.
At least where I live, it is perfectly legal to drive around with an RPG, a heavy machine gun, or hand grenades in your car. (These items may need to be registered with the ATF and appropriate tax stamp paid for.) As far as I know, nobody does and none of those things are suitable for self defence.

There was a guy a while ago who had his own tank (complete with a working gun on it). He took some videos do going thru drive thrus and getting fast food with it.
