For those who wonder why it’s called X, the answer is that it came after W, and W was an abbreviation for “Windowing system”.

When the symbol was a bird, they called them "tweets".

What will they call them now? And should we start calling the company Xitter?

Is it biblical? Is it Christlike? Is it loving? Is it true? How can I find out?

Are we using the Spanish pronunciation of "x" which is "sh" ?

Such as, for example, Guatemala's 2nd largest city Xela pronounced "Shayla"

Are we now posting "Xits" on "Xitter?"

So far, the replacement has been called "Wayland", which seems to be moving back to W. There was an attempt at Y, but it was so non-notorious that it had its Wikipedia page removed.

There are four different Spanish pronunciations for X - remember the Spanish pronunciation for Mexico? So we have choices!

https://www.babbel.com/en/magazine/span ... r-la-equis

And we have 3 different choices in Catalan:

And there's always IPA ...
