There is a metaphor somewhere in there about glass houses.

Apparently the richest man in the world had the Tesla corporation (which is a public company) build him his own private glass house in Austin. And that is something you simply cannot legally do with the funds held by a public company that, in principle, belong to all the shareholders. If he had $44 billion to buy Twitter, you think he would have had the resources to write a check for his own house.

Yes, we’re aware Elon Musk doesn’t always say or promote what the rest of the elites want him to, so this is no surprise at all.

You mean like following the actual law?

Yes, apparently he is pretty casual about that compared to us mere mortals.

Are you saying Tesla shareholders somehow suffered a loss? It was a stratospherically performing stock. They couldn’t have asked for better.

I am saying that public corporations that receive the protection and endorsement of the government have very specific rules they must follow.

One rule is that the founder of a corporation that has gone public (which means they have sold shares to the public and made the public co-owners of the corporation) can't simply just steal money from the corporation for their own private purposes. They can pay themselves whatever salary and benefits that the board agrees to (which then become taxable income) but they can't simply just privatize corporate assets.

That way if you are an investor in any public company with stock sold on the regulated stock market, you have some assurance that the corporation is being managed correctly and isn't just a front for the owners to steal your money.

There is no particular reason other than tax evasion for Elon to have Tesla build him a glass house rather that to just do it himself. And we aren't talking small amounts of money. Just the glass alone was costing millions of dollars. He is essentially gifting himself a house worth maybe tens of millions of dollars without paying a dime of tax on it.

In any event, it is just an investigation at this point. No charges have been filed.

That's completely irrelevant to whether someone is breaking the law or not.

SPACEX SENDS FIRST TEXT MESSAGES VIA ITS NEWLY LAUNCHED DIRECT TO CELL SATELLITES
On Monday, January 8, the Starlink team successfully sent and received our first text messages using T-Mobile network spectrum through one of our new Direct to Cell satellites launched six days prior. Connecting cell phones to satellites has several major challenges to overcome. For example, in terrestrial networks cell towers are stationary, but in a satellite network they move at tens of thousands of miles per hour relative to users on Earth. This requires seamless handoffs between satellites and accommodations for factors like Doppler shift and timing delays that challenge phone to space communications. Cell phones are also incredibly difficult to connect to satellites hundreds of kilometers away given a mobile phone’s low antenna gain and transmit power. Starlink satellites with the Direct to Cell payload are equipped with innovative new custom silicon, phased array antennas, and advanced software algorithms that overcome these challenges and provide standard LTE service to cell phones on the ground. As the global leader in rocket and satellite launch and manufacturing, SpaceX is uniquely positioned to rapidly scale our Direct to Cell network and will rapidly launch a constellation of hundreds of satellites to enable text service in 2024 and voice, data, and Internet of Things (IoT) services in 2025.

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

^^Interesting how Farzad INTRODUCES Elon Musk and RFK, then disappears.
Elon Musk is THE interviewer, RFK is the engaged interviewee. Two interesting styles, they respect each other.

This is not a podcast (like most) in which the podcast originator is directing, sharing his opinions, being central, etc.

i don’t know where the interview came from, or if there is more to it.

It is interesting that you hold up Elon Musk and RFK Jr. to be experts on most of those topics.

If I needed information about what it's like to be fabulously wealthy, I'd consult either of them...
