Here is my question:
Why can't we recognize failure when we see it?
Why do we need to send more money to Ukraine?
Where did all of our tax money go?
Billions of dollars gone, where is our money now?
Who has our money? It is not in Ukraine.
Who got rich off this "war"? It wasn't the people of Ukraine.
Then who were we really fighting for if it wasn't the people of Ukraine? What was the purpose of this war?
And who is responsible for this mess, and all of the death and destruction?
Your comments are appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Most of it never left the US. It went to American armaments manufacturers here in the US who employed American workers to build the munitions that were sent to Ukraine.
So some of it went to American workers in the form of salaries and benefits
Some of it went to the communities in which they are located in the form of taxes and economic activity
And some of it want to the owners and shareholders of those companies.

What does Burisma have to do with anything? It was just a Ukrainian Natural Gas company that has since been dissolved.JohnHurt wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 4:45 pmYes, like Burisma.Ken wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 1:26 pmMost of it never left the US. Here is some of our tax money, millions of US dollars, all wrapped up in rubber bands and being used as a bribe in Ukraine:Ken wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 5:47 pmWhat does Burisma have to do with anything? Ukraine busts $6M bribe scheme for gas company that hired Hunter Biden
https://nypost.com/2020/06/13/ukraine-b ... ter-biden/
But surprisingly, this money is not going to bribe the Biden family. It is only going to bribe the people that work for the Biden family at Burisma. So that is "ok".
So the USA sends Billions and Billions of dollars to Ukraine, one of the most corrupt countries in the world, where everyone bribes everyone else. What could go wrong?
Perhaps some might believe that all of the USA tax money was used for helping the people of Ukraine, or to actually fight a war. There were no bribes, no graft, no corruption at all. And no "10% for the Big Guy".
After all, Hunter Biden is on the Board of Directors for Burisma, because Hunter is an expert in drilling for oil, as he drills the oil out of his hash pipe every morning. So he has the necessary qualifications and has earned every dime he has.
And that "Bobolinski guy", what does he know? He was only the business partner of the Biden family, so he doesn't know anything.
I think you are right, the money we sent to Ukraine did come back to the USA as salaries, commissions, bonuses, and profits for various shell companies. But it wasn't used to manufacture munitions.
Rand Paul tried to put an amendment on the spending bill so that all of the money sent to Ukraine would be tracked by the Auditor General, and Chuck Schumer blocked it. We don't know where the money went. None of us.
You can speculate that the money went to people working at munitions plants, and "average joes". But you don't know either. But if that were true, then why don't we see these billions of dollars in our own economy?
No, the money went to the people that run Wall Street, and all of the corrupt politicians here in the USA, and Ukraine.
That is why the USA is losing the war in Ukraine. If all of the billions of dollars had actually been used to create munitions, and these munitions actually made it to the front lines, then the war would be different. The USA might be winning the proxy war and Ukraine would not be getting creamed by Russia.
I understand that Zelensky has purchased a 30 million dollar villa in Italy, and has other investments around the world. Where did that money come from?
And of course, Hunter Biden is very wealthy too, as he is a shrewd entrepreneur, that is, when he is not high on crack or consorting with prostitutes.
Sure, believe what you want, but that was a LOT of money, and now it is gone. And we did not get the results from this tax money, mainly that the USA would be winning the war in Ukraine by now.
So maybe we are not supposed to win in Ukraine. Hmmm. Let's see...
If the first round of funds for the war in Ukraine had pushed the Russians out, then there would not be a need for more money, and the money game would be over.
Any real success on the battlefield would have turned the money spigot off. So we have a never ending war that always needs more money.
Just like Vietnam. Didn't the Democrats get us into Vietnam too? Wasn't that a never ending war that bankrupted all of us too?
I wish I could vote for an "Anti-War Party". I might think my vote counted for something. I just don't think we have a party that is Anti-War in the USA.
Or an "Anti-Corruption Party" that believes the government should actually put people in jail for bribery.
Have a great day.
John

No, actually it ISN'T.
Did you even read the article you just cited or look at the date? Do you even understand what is being reported?
It is an article from 2020 (2 years before this war started) and it is about how the new (at that time) Zelynskyy Administration in Ukraine had broken up a bribery scheme involving a Ukrainian company that was attempting to bribe Ukrainian anti-corruption officials. In other words, it was the Zelynskyy Administration (who you claim is illegitimate because a corrupt Russian puppet was overthrown by the people 10 years earlier) that was blocking the corruption.
The article you cite has nothing to do with US aid for Ukraine during this war
It has nothing to do with US money at all, and
And it makes the Zelynskyy administration look good

The US government is rigorous about tracking aid it has provided to Ukraine. It goes to weapons, training, air defense, repair of civilian infrastructure like the electrical grid, schools, and hospitals that Russia has destroyed, and so forth.JohnHurt wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 3:01 pmSo where did the money go?Ken wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 10:19 amNo, actually it ISN'T.

Some of it is also just accounting games. Like, for example, when the US sends Abrams Tanks to Ukraine they are just pulling older tanks out of storage depots and putting them on ships. These were tanks that were built and paid for decades ago and that have been mothballed due to downsizing. But they still count them as representing $10 million a piece in aid each, even if it isn't a dime of new money. so 100 Abrams tanks shipped to Ukraine would count as $1 billion of military aid, even though it isn't any new spending.
Same thing when they send artillery ammunition. This stuff has a finite shelf life. It doesn't really cost anything to empty out American warehouses of older munitions that will expire and need to be replaced anyway. Saves us from having to dispose of it in fact.
As for why they aren't winning? Ukraine is a relatively small country going against the world's second largest military. They have frankly been doing amazingly well and far and beyond better than most military experts thought they would do back in February 2022.

It frankly isn't surprising that every piece of munitions isn't completely tracked in a chaotic and kinetic war zone.ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 3:32 pmThe Grey Lady disagrees. The US government is rigorous about tracking aid it has provided to Ukraine. But my point was that we do, in fact, know where the money is going. We know exactly how much money was spent on what things. That report was more about tracking how the weapons are used after they have been delivered.
