A quick google search has US inflation at 6.2%. This thread isn't to discuss politics or conspiracy theories (as much as I enjoy that stuff...). Just give examples, please. I'll start...
Chicken drumsticks averages about $0.88/LB. Now $1.29.
I paid about $3.20/gallon for fuel, and that was with my bonus card discount.
Bacon was $3-ish for a 10# slab. Now its $4.88/LB.
I made an appointment to get some tires replaced on the 'ol battlewagon. They warned me things were up.
Ammo is out there, but still inflated. Guns are the same way.

Re: Inflation in your area?
computer components are pretty expensive right now, there are reasons, but same for the food and gas. I'd say we've seen at least a 20cent rise in gas prices but I don't generally fill the car. Wife does most of the shopping but mushrooms have gone from 2.99 a pound to 3.99 a pound...

“Official” inflation is about 7.5%, which is what the government will pay you for interest on I-Bonds.
The prices for most things I buy are up closer to 30% compared to 2 years ago.
A few things like used cars (historically, a key component of inflation) seem to be up 50%-100%.
The government seems to be in denial about this - everyone is struggling to make ends meet who is on the lower end of the spectrum, even tho jobs are plentiful and wages are going up. They’re just not going up as fast as prices.

Pre-pandemic, we priced a certain make/model of a vehicle. New had a base price of $25k. I looked again just recently and that same $25k will get me a used 3/4 year old model with 60k miles on it.

Current government isn't just in denial, they are totally out of touch. When it comes to gas prices and vehicles, their solution is for everyone to buy electric vehicles. They fail to understand that the median middle class household income is around $46,000 to $70,000 a year.Josh wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 9:43 am “Official” inflation is about 7.5%, which is what the government will pay you for interest on I-Bonds.

The average cost of an Electric vehicle is $55,000 plus. Electric bills will skyrocket and the electric grid as it is now, won’t support a high percentage of Electric vehicles. Then there is the overwhelming cost of battery replacements down the road.
Was it Marie Antoinette from history, when she was told that her starving peasant subjects had no bread, she replied with “Let them eat cake”.
When Biden's press secretary, Jen Psaki was told, the poor and middle class citizens can not afford high gas prices, she told them, “let them buy expensive electric vehicles”.
As for other inflation, I noticed that many food prices have increased, as well as other goods. Filling the pick up used to be $60.00, last time it was $90.00.
