Just received word that 17 people have been kidnapped by a Haitian gang. As far as I know they are under CAM, but not sure if they all are, or if some are not. One of the kidnapped is my nephew who just arrived in Haiti yesterday.
Sounds like the group had gone to visit an orphanage.
Please pray for the situation.

So sad to hear this RZehr...it seemed like just a matter of time to me before the Mennonite mission work would be affected in this way. Kidnappings for ransom have skyrocketed in Haiti lately as the gangs continue their dominance and the economy descends into anarchy. Haiti seems as bad as it ever has been these days. We'll be praying for God's protection for all involved.

Sounds like there are two small, young families with some children among the group kidnapped, four single men, and one single woman. One of the mothers is a cousin of mine.

It looks like most of the major news organizations have this on their front page including CNN. Washington Post even got ahold of an audio prayer alert message that was broadcast to CAM supporters last evening.
side note: I wonder how many hundreds of thousands or millions of people have prayed for this group already, thanks to the public media posting the prayer requests.
