One of the reasons Amish and Mennonites historically avoided the radio, TV, etc is because they were wary of being influenced and manipulated by people with values hostile to Anabaptist values.

They may have been in to something - as are modern groups like some Nationwide or German Baptists (Old Conference) who refuse to use the Internet.

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

Actually many Amish do vote, and it seems to be more all the time.
