To be fair, Ukraine has openly tolerated a variety of extremist neo-Nazi groups and militias.Soloist wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 11:51 am Honestly, the port and buffer against NATO seem like the only legitimate claims from a secular perspective. As has every single nation on earth that has any semblance of freedom of speech and freedom of association. Including the US, Russia, France, UK, Hungary, Germany, etc. Objectively speaking there are more extremist groups in both the US and Russia than in Ukraine. In the 2019 election, the coalition of far-right extremist parties in Ukraine earned a whopping 1.6% of the vote. In other words they are trivial.Josh wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 12:24 pmTo be fair, Ukraine has openly tolerated a variety of extremist neo-Nazi groups and militias.Soloist wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 11:51 am Honestly, the port and buffer against NATO seem like the only legitimate claims from a secular perspective. Here in the US we have a wide variety of right-wing extremist groups and militias from the Proud Boys, KKK, Oathkeepers, and sovereign citizen movement to the Patriot Front. Should WE stop openly tolerating them and start throwing them all in prison? Or is that only something you expect of Ukraine?

The U.S. military doesn't have a paramilitary wing composed of Neo-Nazi militias.
