As a non-resistant person, I would have no qualms about helping to wrestle down a man like this. Any of you other non-resistant folks have a different thought?

Likewise. Sadly attacks on pastors have increased during the past 5 years, many of them during church services. Knives seem to be the weapon of choice in most incidents.

Catecombs anyone?

Someone approached the preacher with a gun, but the gun jammed. Someone tackled the would-be attacker anyway. I like that God is trying to show that faith in Him and perseverance in His Way is the most powerful antidote to violence.

Wife: I remember a story a few years back about a pastor who was killed with his own gun after finding someone hiding in his church. he pulled it out, and the guy ended up wrestling it away from him.

I'm glad this didn't happen in the Liberty University chapel. It looks like this congregation handled it well. It seems like they were able to balance the violent nature of the situation with genuine care for the perpetrator.

The assailant was restrained and then another man came over and removed the firearm from the assailant.
