Im not arguing that all talking of fasting is wrong, but I don't think it should be talked about too much. Even if showing off isn't the original intent, it could become it.

I think many things can become sin if by talking much about them we make ourselves out to be more pious or better followers than others. I talk much here about evangelism being heavily influenced by my parents take on what it means to be a follower. Others may talk much about the head covering or prayer or good deeds or some other topic. We all must be careful that our main areas of focus we talk much about do not come from a holier-than-thou attitude, right ?
