World English Bible (WEB)

Post by KingdomBuilder »

Been enjoying this version for a few reasons, but notice it's a bit different than some popular versions in a few spots.

Any opinions on the WEB's quality/ scholarship/ accuracy??

It's not terribly literal, it apparently sings for you. Can you give some examples of verses you particularly like?

Is it biblical? Is it Christlike? Is it loving? Is it true? How can I find out?

It’s a revision of the American Standard Version into modern English and includes a few idiomatic idiosyncrasies that are minor. For the most part it seems to be free of doctrinal problems but keep in mind I haven’t read it thoroughly looking for any errors. If it helps you grow as a faithful disciple of Christ then I see no fault with it.
