Book: Insanity of God by Nik Ripken

Post by RZehr »

Just read this book this afternoon. Heard about it long ago, never read it. Someone gave it to us. Really powerful accounts of Gods power in country where Christianity is illegal.

Along with the really interesting miracles that are in the book, there is an account of one of the persecuted people had was asking about America. He had told the author about some of the miracles God did in this other country. The author was wholly gobsmacked hearing account after account of God working miracles. While the persecuted person found the miracles a bit common place.
The author was wondering why we didn’t see God working in America.
The persecuted person was equally stunned to hear that in America, Christians were not persecuted, Christians could preach whatever they wanted, have churches, etc. all the blessings and freedoms that we American Christians have. To this persecuted Christian, we in America are the ones for whom God is really working miracles - the miracle of freedom and peace.

It is a good point. We do take it for granted. This country is pretty special compared with a lot of countries. Even with mask mandates.

When we are constantly exposed to the amazing, it becomes commonplace, doesn’t it?
