I have no problem seeing spiritual gifts for today for the building up of the church. I see a serious problem with ordaining Apostles though.

That's true. Apostles are supposed to be chosen by God. I guess it depends on whether people can have a genuine experience like Paul, where Jesus put's his finger on him and says "Go". And that's a deep subject.
