Annoying text messages

Post by temporal1 »

NIKKI HALEY

i don’t get a lot of unwanted texts, but they appear.
typically, i hit “REPORT JUNK AND DELETE” and this often ends the problem.
i’m infrequently bothered by various political texts, i do not reply.

over months, Nikki Haley has been texting me, a few times monthly.
she addresses me personally, as “Robert.” :P

following Iowa, she’s texting several times daily, usually addressing me as Robert, now, sometimes, Keith.

REPORT JUNK AND DELETE - she’s not taking the hint.

This topic is about ANNOYING TEXT MESSAGES, not NH in any special way.

[Today, a message it’s her birthday.] lol REPORT JUNK AND DELETE

I share scripture back. Typically they go away. I’d rather they not just go away when I share scripture but it achieves two things at worst case scenario. If they are annoying me then the annoyance stops. And 2 the good news is shared with someone and there is amazing power in Gods word that won’t return void.

good thinking.
i hesitate, only because i don’t believe these texts are sent by or seen by real people. [???]
then, my response might trigger more unwanted texts. [???]

this doesn’t happen to you?

You are communicating with computers, not real people. No actual person will ever read any messages you send back to a number sending out mass text message spam.

Just block the number and move on if they don't give you an unsubscribe option within the text message. It is all you can do.

On an iPhone, just click the number, hit the "info" button, scroll down and select "block this caller"

I don't know how to do it on an Android phone but I suspect it is equally easy.

I was getting a lot of texts from Dems few years ago and they sent them to a name I do not have as if they knew me - it seems to me I did get a reply once saying they would remove me so someone read it

For Android, hold your finger on the message to highlight it, a checkmark will appear to show it is chosen, select trash at the bottom of the screen, it will ask, also block this number, select yes.

“REPORT JUNK and DELETE” works great - for that one number.
with the Nikki H texts, without skipping a beat, the next text arrives - with a new number.

certainly i believe this is an automated computer system.
i’m certain she’s paid a premium for this nagging system. no doubt about it.

i haven’t figured out how to forward them to Robert.

Political campaigns are exempt from laws banning sending junk texts like that.

Sadly and irritatingly true.
