Here is news coverage of Parler No one really seems to exactly know how much the site was compromised. There is speculation all over the internet. I'm not techie enough to make sense of any of it.

I don't use any of these other apps so maybe I'm missing the point. I do know that my wife uses WhatsAp to stay in touch with her childhood friends in Chile so she doesn't have to pay international text messaging rates. But here inside the US, text messaging is basically free if you have a cell phone.

I don't understand it either?
I'm not interested in paying an extra $50 a month for regular data on a full plan when I've got a family to care for.

I have volunteered to help many times with the local community water system - they won't contact me because I don't have Facebook... Why doesn't email that they used to tell me to get Facebook with not work?

I don't understand?
