Re: Business opportunities serving low-tech Anabaptist groups

Providing world news, news about Plain People, and hospitality options, etc. (via email, fax, or snail mail) I think that is called the Budget. He didn't include touting miracle-like natural cures, can't be the Budget. I confess that I do enjoy reading The Budget, particularly the stories fro...

Re: The Cary Grant syndrome

In my experiences, I think this syndrome can be found in quite a few of life's choices: whether it is getting married; choosing a church; choosing a town or state in which to live; choosing a vehicle; choosing a college; choosing a job; etc.

I call it the "honeymoon vs reality" syndrome.

Re: Prayer Requests & Personal Testimonies

Thank you all. I have appointment with a neurologist next month. I’ve been still pretty much flat, but today I did appreciate some improvement. Me being down is the reason I have been more active than normal on this forum. Probably will continue for a while. We enjoy your posts, RZehr. It provides ...

Re: 2/3 of Roman Catholic Churches in Baltimore to close

This post strikes me as opinionated gossip rather than fact-based. Some additional information that is fact-based is essential to a complete picture as it were. I do know individual priests from the Archdiocese of Baltimore and even some who graduated from St. Mary's. They are not homosexual and ca...

Re: 2/3 of Roman Catholic Churches in Baltimore to close

More than one truth can be present. Did the abuse scandals cost the Balt Archdiocese financially? Absolutely Did they wait too late to do consolidation due to dwindling numbers? Unquestionably Was this Archdiocese led well over the years? Heck no. Did you know the unofficial but widely used nicknam...

RZehr wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2024 11:20 am I would appreciate any prayers for my health. About a month ago I had my back go bad. A herniated disc, pinching my nerve, pain down my leg. I can’t sit. I can stand up for a few minutes. Mostly I’ve just been laying flat on my back.
Continuing prayers for your healing and relief, RZehr. :pray

Re: Preparation for Baptism

When OGBBs settle in an area, is it a community decision or an individual family decision? I hear from a relative that the GA New Conference moved to southeast TN. Is that true? To the first, it is an individual decision. After a few other families move to the same area, they generally start a form...

Re: Which evangelisation method is most effective?

What are we calling success? Joining my church until death? I am leaving that definition to the individual and his fellowship. Max, what has worked best for the RCC? As a fellowship at large the RCC tries to meet the needs of the community, e.g. Catholic ministries to the forgotten, the poor and th...
