Re: Baptismal Formula
I found this regarding the various ways water baptism was handled. It is interesting the rationalizing on practises. I was not aware of triple immersions until first mentioned in this thread. I knew that Oneness Pentecostals require people to be baptised again if they were not baptised as Peter sai...

Re: Questions about Communion / Lord's Supper
In a Catholic Church taken over by a black holiness group (my friends and I were installing a sound system with spare parts) there was a hopper, kinda like a funnel that led to the ground below the alter. One of my friends (Also an ex-catholic) was a former alter boy, and said this was for disposin...

Red Light Therapy?
Just heard of this recently. (Well, my wife heard of it, and mentioned it to me.)
Anyone have any experiences to share?

Re: Questions about Communion / Lord's Supper
I thought the priest is supposed to be giving out flesh and blood, not wine.... :? Yes, but apparently once the wine has been turned into blood, er, consecrated, it can't simply be thrown out, it must be drunk. So the priests did, and were. Especially when the chalice was restricted to the priests....

Re: Church/Faith Summer Camps/VBS
Young people (Pre-teens through JR High, I think) from our congregation often go to a camp program in Indiana, operated by a similar type church group. We also have VBS every Summer, open to any children who want to come. There are always a number of Amish children who attend as well. When I was gro...

Re: Questions about Communion / Lord's Supper
Back in my Bible college days, we were 'required' to have an active ministry of some sort or another. One year I was assigned to a group that did weekly visits to a home for men. Many such homes were for the elderly, but this one was both elderly and also some who were there for other reasons. One m...

Re: Communion Time Questions
Yes, the "as much as lieth within you". I've heard people say, "Well, it doesn't lie within me." How is the Scripture text ACTUALLY to be understood? Does it refer to "as much as the RESPONSIBILITY for the lapse in fellowship "lies with me"? I think that should ce...

Re: The Anabaptist perception on the following of blogs, vlogs, podcasts and more!
I listened to local AM station that played exclusively Western Swing back when I was in early HS, then quit entirely. (That radio station was playing mostly music from the late 40's, so it was "retro" Western music back when I was tuning in.) Our sons listen to some trivia sort of "so...

Re: Communion Time Questions
... 3 questions...: .... Regarding the third question, do you think it was worded in this way to focus only on one's fellow members? I'm not being critical, but the thing that had me anguishing for several days is a conflict that has only very recently come to our attention, hard feelings toward us...

Re: Communion Time Questions
... 3 questions...: Question #1: Are you still of the same mind as when you were received into the church by your baptism? Question #2: Are you still willing to receive and give counsel according to gospel order? Question #3: Are you living, as much as possible, in peace and union with your fellow ...
