Re: Holdeman Transitions ?

I've noticed that different Anabaptist and Christian groups do a brisk business calling each other cults, accusing each other of not believing in salvation by grace, accusing each other of being hypocrites, and accusing each other of possibly being a false church. We all need to knock it off. It's ...

Re: Styles of Worship

At the Beachy church I visited, I was surprised by the homogenized attire of the men. Long sleeved white button down, black over vest, and black pants. I'd say some 98% of men had this on.

Re: Simple Questions About Head Coverings

I think the sex-saturated culture is the whole reason for this attitude. Those who hug or do a holy kiss are meaning nothing sexual, but people now days interpret any kind of touch in terms of sex. I've read about the early church's use of anointing. It often was rubbing the whole body with oil. To...

Max,
I think you misunderstood me. That's fine- I likely failed at communicating what I was trying to. Never mind it all.. I've gotten things too off topic.

Re: The Benedict Option .. (Hoax?)

Haven't you heard? Tv IS the Anti-Christ   I believe the vast majority of it is- do you not? But it's no wolf in sheep's clothing, as far as I'm concerned. It's blatantly, openly wrong. It makes no attempt to masquerade as true Christian faith. I'm most concerned by those within the c...

I'd rather folks watch tv than be enamored by anti-christ messages. Not saying the Benedict Option is anti-christ... just saying.

Re: lying...

But they are not actively pursuing the truth either. Maybe they haven't been taught how. Maybe they have grown used to a culture where claims are not carefully evaluated to see if they are true. Spot on. Personal revelations and opinions trump reason and fact every time. Welcome to the West. Solois...

Re: The Benedict Option .. (Hoax?)

Id poked into this book at the request of someone I know. I find it to be grossly hyperpoliticized (expected from EO, Dreher), incompatible with his "audience", and, frankly, delusional.
It makes for an interesting read and conversation, but I don't think it's worth my time.
