Re: The new fight against "Christian nationalism"
And would you please remember that I have not defended "Christian nationalism" in the sense you are using the word. I have said and still say that they whole debate is bogus and serves only to make people look away from the actual problems. Do you really think that Trump will start a war (...

Re: The new fight against "Christian nationalism"
I didn't know about Amanda Tyler. But I see now - like I had feared and expected - that "Christians against Christan nationalism" is a big movement. Paid by whom? See, this kind of rhetoric right here. Your question is not an honest, intellectual question. There is no indication anyone is...

Re: The new fight against "Christian nationalism"
@ Praxis + Theology I admit that I have "simplified" the matters as far as possible in order to get all that in one article.. But at some points I insist that I have demonstrated basic structures which really exist behind actual thinking. In particular my distinction betwenn the Anglo and ...

Re: Character traits in people that are an instant turn-off?
"Dropping the F-bomb" would have its German equivalent by deeply discontent people who use the word "shit" in every sentence. I've met some such guys - but I still think they make me nervous mostly because they are overpowering and basically only expect that I agree with them.

Re: Character traits in people that are an instant turn-off?
There are some long-time turn-offs. Like people who constantly complain about their life, but answer to each advice with a declaration why it's impossible for them to make the least changes. Wears me out. But an instant turn-off? I suppose: overrpowering people. People who are completely convinced t...

Re: The new fight against "Christian nationalism"
For the record: This is a continuation of my first article - trying to explore what the Anabaptist (and Baptist) clergy actually tries to do, instead of defining, debating or defending an abstract concept of Christian nationalism. However, I suppose that my new article contains some answers to issue...

Re: Anabaptist vs. Protestant vs. Catholic Socio-Cultural Engagement
Reminds to me a problem I have with Anabaptism. In a way Anabaptism is extremely indidualistic. Everything depends on a personal decision. On the other hand, Anabaptism seems to me very collectivist. One cannot be an Anabaptist without being a member of a local church. In a way one might say that it...

Re: Poll: Justice and its implications for Christians/non-Christians
I don't understand what is meant with "justice" here! The system of trials and the activity of judges and lawyers? In that case I suppose that we can speak about "perverted" justice. For instance, Mark Steyn wrote in 8/21 that "the dirty stinking rotten corrupt U.S. justice ...

Re: Why Black ?
As for "plain", my justification has always been that "plain" means "not fashionable". Everything is okay when it is no more the fashion of the world. - Reading this here I have a second thought: "plain" mey mean "not competitive". Fashion is not onl...
