Re: Canada "emergency use": democratic or not?

We are considered a democracy. It is true that the Givernir General needs to sign legislation before it becomes law. English monarchy basically has nothing to do with our laws other than that.

Re: Poll: Freedom Convoy and Related Protests

Except for he gets to use the act immediately. Unless stricken down it is in effect for 30 days. My point was, Trudeau believes these guys to be a threat to national security, or else he can't meet the threshold for enacting these powers. But whoever is arresting (some of) them, won't even go to the...

Re: Poll: Civil Disobedience as a Peaceful Form of Political Protest

I am an "idle bystander", for the most part. But I have watched and seen things, even if from afar, that I don't expect an American to have seen much less understood. Robert is doing a fantastic job of making me feel less like the odd man out. I'd say we could do worse than make him an hon...

Re: Poll: Freedom Convoy and Related Protests

So the arguments being made in our House of Cimmons that these guys were violent insurrectionists with a plan to threaten our national security are either false, or we don't take such threats seriously enough to charge them, only seriously enough to argue for the Emergency Measures. It really can't ...

Re: Poll: Freedom Convoy and Related Protests

If you were a tow truck driver, how would you apply Jesus's teachings to go 2 miles? or would this be an active participant with the sword of the government requiring refusal to participate even if it meant your life? Or his teaching to treat others the way you should like to be treated? I am not s...

Re: Poll: Freedom Convoy and Related Protests

Ok, this is like a bad habit that I can't quit. Some of the trucks that were towed were impounded for 7 days, while the drivers face, please pay attention here, NO CHARGES. Why? How, if they were illegal, violent, insurrectionists did they get away with no charges? It's fascinating, and bears invest...

Re: Poll: Civil Disobedience as a Peaceful Form of Political Protest

It also appears that she threw something at a police horse. (I haven't yet been able to identify the object) It would appear common knowledge that she had a walker, I do not think it was thrown at a horse, contrary to what Ottawa Police said o line. Video would show different. It is also common kno...
