Re: Dispensationalism, John Darby, etc.
We should only follow what Christ said, which His 12 Apostles recorded. Could you list all the written works you consider a valid record of what Jesus said? What is the criteria by which you consider something a reliable record of what Christ said? Of the four accounts we have in the NT of Jesus' l...

Re: The Anabaptist perception on "botique" coffee?
So where do you see yourself on the coffee snob scale? Vote and discuss. If you do not drink coffee, and prefer tea or some other hot beverage, feel free to comment. I'm not a coffee snob, but I'm a spelling snob, so I raised my nose right up in the air when I saw this thread. And speaking of coffe...

Re: The Anabaptist perception on the following of blogs, vlogs, podcasts and more!
Podcasts, now there you got me. I enjoy listening to podcasts while doing routine work such as closing my store or driving truck. I could never listen to anything while working. Some years ago when I worked nights I tried to listen to music (my employer allows it, with one earbud only). Couldn't do...

Re: The Anabaptist perception on the following of blogs, vlogs, podcasts and more!
What is your take or experience on such things? Would your church have any standards, written or otherwise, on following such media? Blogs, no, for lack of time and because most personal blogs of people I would follow have switched over to social media. And following blogs per se is basically a thi...

Re: ChatGPT outline of Sermon on the Mount
I just thought of a use for AI in preparing Bible studies. You can use it to generate study questions. I tried 1 Timothy, and the results are actually kind of good. I could see using some of these questions. Query: Generate ten key questions related to the key topics contained in the Bible book of 1...

Re: ChatGPT outline of Sermon on the Mount
Gonna toss this out here: I would trust reading the actual text far more than I would trust a computer robot's summary of what it thinks the text says. If God wanted us to read a ChatGPT summary of the Bible, well, that's what he would have given us. Nonetheless, this is a very interesting exercise...

Re: Sattler College Turmoil
So university presidents were actually correct to hedge their responses. Context actually does matter. Why are they apologizing, then? The main job of a university President is to fundraise. If donors start pulling back, you do whatever you can to make them happy, right down to abandoning your prin...

Re: GPT and LLMs: Good? Bad? Both?
I asked ChatGPT to process the above text as follows: User rewrite the following to be more interesting - add some emotion, make it personal and relateable Here's the result: Navigating the web these days feels like wading through a sea of AI-generated content. It's like expecting a gourmet meal bu...
