Re: Maybe my father was right ...

My father voted. He refused to tell people who he voted for, saying that was private. For those who vote, that strikes me as a wise position to take. What do you think? Why? I know that some of you are against voting at all, that's not the question I am asking in this thread. To me, it depends on t...

Re: Amish Heritage?

One of her goals is to enforce education for all so if some young Amish born person wants to leave Amish society, they will be prepared by having a "proper" education. Overturning Wisconsin vs Yoder would accomplish that. She seems to be joined by a number of other people who believe they ...

Re: Forgiveness

The well respected minister (bishop) who was silenced and excommunicated recently for what was thought to be a wrong doctrine of forgiveness wrote an eight page document complete with scripture references for his understanding of forgiveness. Now some people are responding that it doesn't take eigh...

The people involved will end up pushing that bishop into the arms of a less conservative group, unless they decide to back down. I’m sorry that you are having to go through this.
Thanks, Josh. That is what is about to happen unless I can do some influencing.

Re: Forgiveness

How does this work with "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do?" https://www.gotquestions.org/Father-forgive-them.html Question: "Why did Jesus say 'Father, forgive them' on the cross?" Answer: Jesus’ words “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are d...

Re: Randal Martin on the CAM/Jeriah Debacle

Yes, this Randall Martin, the chairman of ASAA. Trudy quotes this on her latest blog. She currently has "differences" with the leadership of ASAA (over Steve Stutzman, I believe) but this statement from Randall is certainly helpful.

Re: Forgiveness

Recently someone told me this. "100 years from now the only two things that will matter are these. 1. Did the perpetrator repent? 2. Did the victims forgive? Neither are ultimately dependent on the other. Yes, repentance can sometimes help people forgive. But lots of people have forgiven regar...

Re: The *official* CAM scandal links thread

One of the deeper questions that CAM is hopefully asking is, what is it about our institutional (supporting Church?) culture that brought about this closed-door response in the first place? And furthermore, was it the same thing that led Eli W and Paul W to believe they knew enough to safely place ...
