Re: 6 killed at private Christian School in Nashville
My only question is this. Why did the first post in this thread not start out with your declaration of your love for ice cream?

Re: Mennonite Nazi War Crim Dies in bed In Canada
Another oddity in this sordid history ,is that as the Nazis drove their way through Ukraine, they came upon this enclave of several hundred thousand, mostly, blue eyed, blond haired, fair skinned ,German speaking people..(Russian Mennonites) ..exactly what Hitler believed a superior race looked like...

Re: Mennonite Nazi War Crim Dies in bed In Canada
Since this guy lived and worked in my backyard I have been following this case quite closely for about 30 years. One thing I find of interest is that his Mennonite culture was at least to my knowledge never mentioned in news articles that I read. While I have no doubt this was his cultural backgroun...

Re: Is Trump getting arrested on Tuesday?
If Trump is guilty of trying to bribe Stormy Daniels (which is illegal) shouldn’t he be held accountable? Only if in fact any ordinary person would be charged for the same offence. Which is unlikly at least by this prosecutor who would not even prosecute a person for the alleged crime that Trump wa...

Re: Is Trump getting arrested on Tuesday?
Its a distraction necause of yhe heat on the Bidens illegal problems coming to more & more light. And the fact the 2024 potential candidates are lining up. The left are banking on the hopes that the American people are too stupid to not see why this focus on Trump right now. You can bet if they...

Re: Coronavirus Outbreak
Without having read nearly all 750 pages it suddenly struck me that this thread could be used by historians to research the ebb and flow of people’s responses and feelings throughout the many varied stages of the pandemic.

Re: A Salute to Steve's Food Polls
Ours had no time for a heat lamp. The little village we were in had three fish and chip shops on the Main Street. We checked out all three and went with the one that looked the busiest and obviously had the most locals in it. Big huge pieces of fish with a perfect batter. I will never forget it.

Re: A Salute to Steve's Food Polls
I proffer that no nation can do a chippy like the Brits. https://www.foodieflashpacker.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/fish-n-chips-london.jpg Yup. One of my altimeter favourite food experiences was eating fish and chips with the fish wrapped in newspaper on the northern shores of Northern...

Re: covering the grave
This subject is about as real and raw to me right now as it could be as I was a pallbearer at my brother-in-laws’s funeral just 2 days ago. In our home area old order Mennonite churches have a practise of hand digging the graves and then filling them in almost completely at a public burial just prio...
