Re: REACH 2017
I wish either this or Rosedale's REACH would consider a name change.

Re: What the Mennonites got right
This leaves those of us who aren't Swiss-German out in the cold. I can't make myself become Swiss-German. And having a Swiss-German work ethic seems very far afield from anything having to do with the kingdom of heaven. I agree to a point, but I'd say that having such a high standard of living that...

Re: Islamic arguments about God
I'm not sure how Christianity can't survive in the cities. Plain Anabaptists certainly exist there. And then there are other people I admire like Shane Claiborne.

Re: TIME’s Person of the Year: Donald Trump
Not sure how this is different from 8 years ago. We are still in the same "divided" country. If we are supposed to be ambassadors of Jesus' kingdom then I don't think it makes a great deal of difference if we are ambassadors to Yugoslavia or if we are to Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Macedon...

I'm actually impressed with AV so far. It pulls from a broad spectrum of voices.

Re: Non-plain Anabaptists / Mennonites
Now I want to add something I saw in early Anabaptism absent from Wade's list, which is a strong emphasis on exclusion from those who become apostate. The concept of the ban is emphasised in the Dordrecht and Schleitheim confessions. A. O. Green had a good article on this unfortunately not available...

Re: Non-plain Anabaptists / Mennonites
I will wear the mantle of dual affiliation in order to participate in this post, and I am in a similar position to Nero anyway (formerly Plain congregation transitioning to non-plain). - They saw ordinances as symbolic spiritual experiences. Not all of these were practiced immediately but the seven ...

Re: How to Overcome Addictions?
How can believers claim to be sinless? Sin is just making mistakes.

Re: Where do you fit?
I voted #1, mostly since that would be my preference.
My home congregation fits #3. The other churches I visit wouldn't fit on this list since neither of them are pacifist or nonresistant.

Re: Who "owns" the Conservative Anabaptists?
This is an uncomfortable topic (and apparently it is for all the other CAs) but I would use Cory Anderson's article "Who are the Plain Anabaptists?" published in JAPAS. From there, I would include people who are applying for membership or regularly attending a church on his list, and also ...
