Re: A Mennonite view of divorce and remarriage
However the fact remains that almost any modern church that has accepted your view is only a generation from experiencing divorce and remarriage at nearly the same level as society around them. Your position may be right. But this particular observation isn't really a valid point, is it? The end do...

Re: Who "owns" the Conservative Anabaptists?
I see intermediate conservative mennonites somewhat freely interact and connect with charity people, german baptists, followers of the way, ultra conservative mennonites, moderate conservative mennonites. Depending on the person not all intermediates will interact with all these groups, but I do. I...

Re: A Mennonite view of divorce and remarriage
I would like to insert that while we Mennonites may discuss what Menno Simons wrote and thought, we do not hold him up as a prophet or his writings up as super important or semi-inspired.
I hope anyone reading this doesn't go away with the wrong impression.

Re: My weakness
Some people are weak in one area, some are weak in a different area. And the first person may be strong in some areas, and I may be strong in a different area. Of course with years of walking with Christ, one ought to be stronger than a new babe. But lets not get the mindset that the next person is ...

Re: Was sin an inevitable?
I've thought lots of times about how different life would be if Adam and Eve hadn't sinned. But they would have had children, I assume. And those children could have sinned too. Someone, between then and now would have. So was the idea of man sinning, and receiving a carnal nature, an inevitable? I...

Re: Query: Submission to the weaker brother?
I can appreciate what has already been said regarding hostage taking or that reality. But it seems to me that the concept has been completely lost in many churches. What churches actually practice this? We in America are so afraid of being run over, that immediately the conversation goes to staking ...

Re: Church Planting By Relocating Families
My advice (hopefully churches will hear this) is stop planting where there are MANY other churches... I don't know if this was the type of advice you were looking for so I apologize if not. Go south. Go west. Think Texas. Think Arkansas. Think Montana. Think Wyoming. Think New Mexico. Also think su...

Speaking of distribution problems; I was at a seed conference last week, and one of the speakers was talking about how the low grain commodity prices are affecting seed usage. He forecast low grain prices thru the next year, and said that right now the world has a two year supply of grain.
