Re: Conservative Anabaptist Church Finder & Information
Is anyone familiar with Treasure Valley Mennonite Church in New Plymouth, Idaho? I can't find it on Gameo, does it still exist? And if so, which group does it belong to?

Re: Church Drift — Poll
If you are asking, what is the biggest contributor of "drift" in clothing? Mennonite fundamentalism and the idea that whatever is decided with group consensus is the right thing to do. It looks like a dangerous combination to me. I am much more concerned about what is driving this--than &...

Re: Josh Harris no longer a Christian
One thing I haven't seen much of in this whole discussion (on this site and on many others) is that Josh's church, Sovereign Grace Ministries, had its own huge child sexual abuse scandal a few years back. I imagine this contributed to Josh and many of this congregants leaving, as it would in any chu...

Re: Acceptance of Gay Marriage growing in the Church
After asking some advice from a pastor friend of mine, he suggested reading Preston Sprinkle, who talks about how to still be there for lgbt people despite your different beliefs. I think that people living in sin need you more than you think and more than they know. I don't think it's ever a good i...

Re: Acceptance of Gay Marriage growing in the Church
I think it's important to maintain family connections. I don't see an issue with letting them visit. If you would want an unmarried male/female couple to stay in separate rooms, maybe try that? I don't think forbidding them from staying in your home does much good. Children will learn that there are...

Re: Joshua Harris and Wife Separate
I shouldn't do this. I know better but...my prediction next up. I Kissed Steve. That would not actually surprise me. Those who bellyache about that issue seem to be the ones most likely to be that type of person. Also what straight man writes a book on relationship advice as a young man? Pretty muc...

Re: US Religious Knowledge Quiz
I got the Buddhism one right because I learned about Buddhism in my world history class. 15/15 otherwise, though most questions weren't especially difficult.
Re: College
This promises “intellectual honesty”. I wonder how honest it will actually be. That remains to be seen. i find the idea interesting. i’m thinking about enrolling to view this series with my granddaughter. she’s young, but we have enjoyed some interesting things together. she’s interested. one PBS D...

Re: Public libraries. 21st Century saloons?
Any sources on this? All my public libraries keep a close eye on the children's section and keep the internet filtered. I think the kids have specific computers as well.

Re: What Do You Listen To?
Sermons, books, music. My fellow young people have gotten into podcasts and I've listened to Anabaptist Perspectives a few times. Can't get into the other theology podcasts, though, seems more like I'm listening to two people talking aimlessly.
