Re: Pilgrim Conf. vs Northeastern Conf.

What are the actual differences at this point between Pilgrim Mennonite Conference and Northeastern Mennonite Conference, which separated from Pilgrim several years ago? I think mostly administrative, although my feeling is that Northeast is holding a bit of a tighter line regarding non-conformity ...

Re: Passive-Aggressive: How can you tell?

A sure sign of a passive aggressive comment on the internet is a blatantly rude, snarky comment followed by a completely unnecessary smiley ( :D :) ) weak, KB - proving, sometimes, superficially PA statements are really nothing more than under-the-radar "stabs" at peacemak...

Re: Dr Ben Carson - Post 2016 Election

Speaking of that email, it is distributed by an entity called Ben Carson News but copyrighted by Newsmax. Is Ben Carson News affiliated in any with with Dr. Ben Carson the real person, as the name seems to imply, or is it simply a Newsmax subsidiary? The suite at the address listed is currently ava...

Re: Can Folks Afford to Join Your Church?

The common church rulings on color of a car has nothing to do with submission. Its a hold over from the model T Ford. Its a tradition through and through. Are you suggesting that the only reason the ultra-conservative churches require dark colors is because "that's the way we've always done it...

Missouri's Buried City - Old Time Journalism

An article I read recently in a back issue of the Anabaptist Forum caught my attention in relation to the recent discussions here on MN about fake news and yellow journalism.
How's this for an example of old time responsible reporting?

Re: Credible News Sources

Here are some ways to discern online sources: Breaking News Consumer's Handbook Jazman, thank you for posting this. #8 is a very valid point. Kind of gets under my skin when a headline proclaims some "fact" or other, then you read the article and you realize there is no meat in the articl...

Re: POLL: Relating to Power: The Christian and Politics

While our calling as individuals and communities of faith should challenge us to lives of simplicity and generosity in response to Christ’s teachings, I believe we would be remiss if we failed to respond publicly to systematic exploitation and even abuse that at times is perpetrated upon the weak a...
