Re: The electoral college
Lester is basically right, but it's worth noting that the Framers designed the electoral college without anticipating the development of a two-party system, not to mention the ways that American society has changed since 1787. This is speculation, of course, but I suspect that if the Framers could h...

Re: Evidence only.
Those are good questions that I don't really have answers to. In a way I don't think it really matters as long as the discussion is confined to assertions of evidence (regardless of whether or not they're accepted) instead of...other things.

Re: Credible News Sources: The Russian Hacking Story
I think the county electoral map states it well. No, it doesn't. to me, it paints a vivid picture similar to 2014. the divide is rural/urban, not north-south, black-white, or other. That may well be. But it is not evidence of a landslide, which is what Robert seemed to be claiming. The apparent sou...

Evidence only.
This is the thread for presenting and discussing evidence related to controversial issues. Biblical interpretation, politics, science, whatever. Just evidence—no posturing, no ad hominem attacks or other logical fallacies. If you say something, be prepared to back it up. If you don't, I may find it ...

Re: Bill Bonner and Agora Inc - the newest economic conspiracy theory...
I think that I could find a way to "prove" all kinds of interesting things if only I had Joe Arpaio's birth certificate and an ax to grind. ;) i tend to presume, if there were questionable/fraudulant documents in the sheriff's background, he would be in prison/silenced (?) To be clear, I ...

Re: Dr Ben Carson - Post 2016 Election
What I heard from Carson, was not that Trump was a glowing example, but that he was connected/comfortable to people of faith. Over the past 8 years, there has been a raising tide of disconnect with many "traditional" Christians and government. Many have felt pushed out and actually on the...

Re: Dr Ben Carson - Post 2016 Election
Before you quickly dismiss what I am saying think about this for a minute. The belief system that many Christians hold too particularly evangelicals were pretty mainstream only 15 to 20 years ago. But all that has changed. Now, to believe that abortion is wrong or that marriage is between a man and...
