Re: Portable Wedding Houses
Plenty of room for the auction too. It does seem to accommodate a number of uses :D I also find it interesting that the Amish growth in numbers at weddings creates a need for this. They are creative in their solutions too. ;) I would not call it particularly "creative" to adopt the custom...

Re: Portable Wedding Houses
I would describe the reason not due to growth, but due to the transition away from farming and due to having larger wedding guest lists thanks to using modern long distance transportation.MaxPC wrote:Growth in Amish numbers have created a new rental business.

Re: The Trinity
Anabaptists typically did not care much for complex theology, but at the same time saw little value in unseating orthodoxy or thinking that doing so would do much good. The Schleitheim and Dordrecht confessions never gets into the Trinity and merely affirms that God is real, Jesus is God, and that's...

Re: Credible News Sources
I dismissed that chart out of hand since they put Breitbart over in the "Crimethink" box. A guide on how to follow news that obviously has a left-wing liberal-progressive bias isn't very helpful to me. If you want people like me (who are quite sympathetic to both sides of the aisle) or peo...

Re: Christian Fads
I carry a Scofield Bible which once belonged to my great grandmother. The notes in it can be comically bad in some places.
I think the Bible reads best without commentary - and instead for additional insight seeking it in a community of other believers to help discern the text.

Re: Pilgrims and Politics, by Michael Martin
LesterB~ Michael is a very meticulous writer . In general, I'm inclined to agree. I was disappointed in his generalization and misrepresentation of the German Pietists, however, which seems somewhat commonly accepted among most Mennos I meet... That might be another thread, though. ;) I have learne...

Re: Credible News Sources: The Russian Hacking Story
I wonder how much it behooves citizens of Jesus' kingdom to always complain about the government: it is too big, has too many departments, spends too much money, has bad leaders.
I don't see any of this attitude in scripture.
